Incorporated in 2005, Exilica Limited is a UK university spin-out company that was established to exploit the production and use of micrometer-sized spherical polymer particles (called µ-Sq beads) and sub-micrometer sized hollow silica shells. Exilica currently manufactures R&D scale amounts of its two products and engages in joint collaborative projects with large multi-national companies with the aim of developing new innovative products that utilise the company’s technologies.
The Management Team
Chairman – Geoff Berry; Chartered Accountant, Non-Executive Director of Coventry University Enterprises Ltd. Governor of Coventry University. Past FD of a major UK supplier of forged aerospace components. Current interests include strategic support to start up companies.
MD / Business Development Director – Norman Leece PhD; Previous MD and Director of the subsidiary of a Footsie 250 company. Has developed and grown a number of businesses during his 35 years of general management experience in industry.
Technical Director – Daniel Lynch PhD is a materials chemist and x-academic with over 200 research publications and a number of industrial consultancies. He was a Senior Lecturer at Coventry University for 12 years, becoming a Reader in Applied Chemistry in 2007. He was on the 2005 - 2006 Enterprise Fellowship Scheme, was a 2004 - 2005 Midlands Medici Fellow and is the inventor of the processes.
Director. Market Development Advisor – John Bambrough; Director of an economic development management consultancy and a not-for-profit sustainable business organisation. Has supported technology commercialisation and spin-out companies from over 10 UK universities over the last 20 years.
Director. Corporate Affairs – Brian More PhD is the Intellectual Property Manager of Coventry University Enterprises Limited and is involved with a number of business start-up companies. He is a nuclear physicist who headed up BNFL’s company research laboratories before moving across to business development, and former chairman of the Institute of Nanotechnology.
Director - Exilica has a fifth director from the minerals industry.
