Potential commercial applications for the µ-Sq beads and the Hollow silica shell are numerous and include:

Our spherical micrometer sized polymer particles (called µ-Sq beads) act like micro sponges and absorb molecules while the sub-micrometer sized Hollow silica shells have an internal void space and act much like a standard container. Both the beads and shells are very robust and can survive harsh temperatures / pressures and chemical conditions.
